SPOTLIGHT
Dave Rettinger
Dave’s a second-generation hearth guy, so he’s been around the industry all his life. “My father started Rettinger Fireplace when I was five years old,” he recalled, “and I watched my parents grow the company into a legacy worth continuing.” Even though he grew up in the industry, he’s only been professionally focused on it for a little over a decade. Before that, he worked in human resources for a large hospitality company, then moved to San Francisco to work for data marketing companies. Since returning to Rettinger Fireplace, he’s focused on improving the quality of his customers’ and employees’ experiences.
When asked what advice he would offer to others in the industry, Dave urged hearth leaders to be life-long learners. “Keep an open mind and try to learn from as many people as possible,” he said. “Everyone has something to teach you.”
Outside of work, Dave focuses on spending time with his young family. “I have a beautiful wife and two daughters who bring me immense joy,” he said. “Time with family is really all that matters.” He also enjoys playing music, surfing, backpacking, reading, and riding his bike.
Thanks for being such an incredible leader in our industry, Dave. The entire Fire Time Movement appreciates your energy and insight!
