Gideon Honeycutt

Gideon Honeycutt has been part of the hearth industry for 15 years, getting his start at just 17 years old. What began as a part-time job in sales at his aunt and uncle’s shop—Wright’s Hearth, Heat & Home—quickly turned into a career. While earning his degree in Economics with a concentration in macroeconomic policy, he continued working in the industry, gaining hands-on experience as a field technician assistant for wood, pellet, and gas fireplaces. After graduation, he took on the role of sales manager at the same store, fully immersing himself in the industry.

Since then, Gideon has transitioned into the manufacturer side of the business, working as a sales representative for Valor Fireplaces and Blaze King Industries. His time in sales and technical service gave him a deep appreciation for the connection between dealers, reps, and manufacturers, and he has built his career around helping dealers succeed. Whether it’s advocating for better product knowledge, ensuring reps provide real value, or embracing the evolution of electric fireplaces, Gideon is passionate about pushing the industry forward.

When asked what advice he would give to others in the industry, Gideon’s response was simple: “Have a great time doing what you’re doing.” He believes that once people stop seeing fireplace sales and service as just a job and start recognizing that they’re helping customers choose and maintain something that will be part of their home for a lifetime, it becomes a lot more fun. “Anything worth doing in the house happens around the fireplace,” he said.

Outside of work, Gideon stays busy watching sports, playing chess, and collecting watches (a hobby he admits is a little unusual). He also enjoys spending time with his dogs and making the most of his free time, even though there isn’t much of it.

Gideon’s journey from part-time sales assistant to trusted industry rep is a testament to his passion for the industry and his commitment to making it better. Thanks for all you do, Gideon! The entire Fire Time Network appreciates your insight and leadership.
